Getting started

Your plan limits, and what happens if you cancel

What each plan holds, why Premium stops at 1,000 dynamic codes, and exactly what happens to the codes you have already printed if your subscription ends.

What each plan holds

Free Premium
Dynamic QR codes 2 1,000
New dynamic codes per day 1 no daily limit
Documents stored 10 100
Largest upload 10MB 50MB

Static QR codes are unlimited on both plans, and always will be. A static code contains your link inside the pattern, so there is nothing for us to host and nothing to count.

Why Premium is 1,000 and not unlimited

Every dynamic code is a short link on our domain. Unlimited link creation on a paid account is the thing people buy stolen cards to get, and the abuse lands on the domain your printed codes depend on. A ceiling protects the codes you have already put into the world.

1,000 is set far above real use. If you are approaching it, tell us and we will raise it for your account, because at that point you are the kind of customer we want to talk to anyway.

When you reach a limit

Nothing you have already made is affected. The refusal happens only when you try to create something new, and it says which limit you reached.

Delete a dynamic code you no longer need and the slot returns immediately. Deleting a code does break that printed pattern permanently, so check where it points before removing it.

If your Premium subscription ends

This is worth reading before you subscribe, not just after.

Cancelling is not deleting. When a subscription ends, whether you cancelled it or a payment failed, your account returns to the Free plan. Nothing is removed.

Concretely, after a downgrade:

  • Every dynamic QR code you created keeps working. All of them, including the 998 that are over the Free limit. Scans still resolve to their destinations. A printed code does not stop working because a card expired, and it never will: making customers' printed material fail as a collections tactic would be indefensible.
  • You can still edit where each one points. The destination stays editable on the Free plan.
  • Your scan history stays and you can still read it.
  • Documents already uploaded stay online at their existing links.

What changes is what you can create next:

  • You cannot create a new dynamic code until you are under the Free limit of 2. With 40 existing codes you would need to delete 39 to make one more, so in practice you keep what you have and add nothing.
  • The one-per-day limit on new codes applies again.
  • Uploads pause until you are under 10 documents.
  • Brand kits become read-only. Codes you already branded keep their branding.

Resubscribe and everything lifts again at once. Nothing needs restoring, because nothing was taken away.

The one thing to plan for

If you are printing at volume, do the printing while subscribed and count on the codes outliving the subscription, because they do. What a lapse costs you is the ability to make new codes, not the ones already on your packaging.

Limits are shown on the pricing page and can change. Treat the numbers here as today's.
